The mission of the Clean Air Community Trust is to improve air quality through innovative programs that educate, energize, and empower the communities of western North Carolina. We are committed to the following goals:
The Clean Air Community Trust is governed by a Board of Trustees representing the medical, commercial, educational, and governmental sectors of our community. We are a non-regulatory entity working to improve air quality in WNC. We are members of the Clean Air Campaign and we work with many local organizations toward this common goal. - To return visibility to natural conditions thus creating a community with healthy air.
- To initiate everyday activities and events that reduce global warming and air pollution.
- To serve as a public resource for air quality information and education.
- To partner with businesses, industry, local government, schools, and other institutions to create innovative models to achieve clean air.

The Clean Air Community Trust hosted the third annual Air Expo ion January 23. The event recognized the accomplishemnts of the students who participated in the 2008 AQ-IQ Contest. CACT received over 200 posters, close to 50 power points and electronic projects, and about 35 pother projects, experiments, creative projects, and videos.
The Top Award was givien for the Air Heads Magazine, a project by Rainbow Mountain School student.
